Biography

John R. Carter (born November 6, 1941) is a Republican United States Congressional Representative from the 31st District in Texas (map). The central Texas district encompasses Williamson, Erath, Hamilton, Coryell, Bell, Milam, Falls and parts of Robertson counties, and includes the gigantic Fort Hood military installation.

Carter was born and raised in Houston. He was married on June 15, 1968 and has worked as a lawyer and judge.
